Native to the coastal areas of the Mediterranean and Canary Islands, it is prized for its hardiness and ability to adapt to harsh environmental conditions. Botanical description Position: Herbaceous perennial with woody, prostrate stems forming small rounded cushions. Height: Up to 20 cm. Leaves: Oblong-spatulate, fleshy, dark green or grey-green, covered with thick hairs. Flowers: Solitary yellow, daisy-like flower heads with a diameter of up to 5 cm. They bloom from spring to autumn. Fruits: Equipped with a pappus, they favour dispersal by wind. ☀️ Location and cultivation Exposure: Prefers full sun. Soil: prefers well drained, sandy or rocky soil. Resistance: Tolerant to drought and salt, suitable for Mediterranean and xeric gardens.
